Living Talismans is a collage series made from thrifted paper—portals transforming.
I’ve been collaging since high school as part of my journaling. Journaling's just more fun with pictures.
I love paper. Touching it. Ripping it. Layering it.
This series grew from a pile of Time books I found on a road trip and old National Geos I got off eBay from a sweet lady in Vegas. Every piece feels like a love letter. And now that it’s wrapping up, I can’t tell if I’m the one writing them or the one being written to.
Both Time and Nat Geo feel outdated and tone-deaf, but that’s okay—collage is a compost process. You take something old, heat it up, and it transforms into something else.
